In Case of Service Interruption
Call 1-800-327-0166
.....If your lights go out, first check to see if your neighbors are out, too. If so, the cause is probably outside your home, possibly on Thumb Electric Cooperative's distribution system. We would appreciate you calling us at 1-800-327-0166, and our personnel will determine the source of trouble and restore service as soon as possible. The Cooperative's phone is manned 24 hours a day.
.....However, power interruptions can be caused by a problem within your home or building. It could be a blown fuse or tripped circuit breaker (located in a fuse or breaker box inside your home, building or garage). If you live in a mobile home, check to see that the main breaker in your home's breaker box is in the on position. Also, check the breaker box outside on your service pole near your electric meter.
.....If a TEC employee is sent out to handle a reported outage when the problem is really in the member's home, the member may be billed a special charge.
.....During severe weather, electric service may be interrupted as a result of storm damage. At these times, outages could be widespread and of extended duration. When they do occur, you can be assured that Thumb Electric employees are doing everything they can to restore service as quickly and safely as possible.
