RENEWABLE PROGRAMS

Thumb Electric Cooperative's new renewable programs for members are: 

COMMUNITY SOLAR PROGRAM - TEC is in the process of owning and maintaining a community solar array. A member will be able to purchase a panel subscription to the TEC Solar Community array and receive a bill credit for your share of the solar array’s output. The cost for a panel subscription is $750 upfront or $12.50 per month for 60 months. TEC continues delivering your energy, and you receive a monthly credit of $0.075/kwh for the energy output of your panel on your electric bill. One panel is expected to produce energy resulting in a $50.00 per year credit. While not guaranteed, the payback for the $750 subscription is approximately 15 years.

DISTRIBUTED RENEWABLE ENERGY PROGRAM - Program designed for those that want to offset some of your energy needs from the Cooperative by using energy produced by your system. The qualifying system has to be sized based on your last 12-month consumption history.

BUY-ALL / SELL-ALL PROGRAM - You install a system (maximum 50 KW in size) on your property. The Cooperative buys all electricity the system generates at $0.06 per KWH. The agreement lasts for 20 years. You continue to purchase all your electricity needs from the Cooperative at your normal retail rate.
